In 2002, 18.2 million Americans had diabetes, the annual revenue of all diabetes-related companies totaled $14 billion, and Kelly Close founded Close Concerns as a one-person consultancy. Since then, diabetes has become a worldwide epidemic, the industry has expanded to over $40 billion, and Close Concerns has grown in size and scope to become a leading information source on the business of diabetes and obesity. Below, we describe some of the milestones along the way.
